Some Pretty Big Changes Have Been Brewing
First, I want to apologize for neglecting this blog for so long. This started out as something I wanted to do for fun, but what I didn't realize was that blogging is no small task.
Between trying to think of new topics to blog about, and trying to balance this hobby with my full-time job, I quickly started to lose motivation. Eventually, this lead to burnout.
Since my last post, a lot of things have changed, and I suppose I have Covid to thank for that. In August 2021, I made a super tough decision, and I decided to leave my full-time job. After five years of working in the same environment, making some memories that will no doubt last a lifetime, and feeling like I had a purpose greater than myself, this was no easy decision to come to.
During quarantine, I realized how much I enjoyed the freedom of working from home, and how much my work-life balance had improved. This was something I couldn't ignore. Fast forward several, SEVERAL months, and many long days of back and forth thinking, I decided to fully immerse myself into the world of freelance blogging.
Since making this huge decision, I have been working on setting up my new online home. I know that there is still plenty of work to be done and tons of lessons to be learned, but I'm finally feeling good about where my new adventure is heading. If you've been a reader for awhile, or if you somehow stumbled across this page for the first time, I'd love for you to come check out the work that I've been pouring my heart and soul into at heatherhartswriting.com.
At this time, I'm uploading weekly blog posts, and the topics I'm covering are mental health and fashion/style. I know... a bit of a difference between the two, but both of these things are my life, and I simply couldn't choose! If one interests you more than the other, you can use the search bar at the top of the website to search for keywords, such as "mental health" or "fashion."
Another change that I've made towards this new career path is deciding to start freelancing my blogging services. My target clients are currently businesses and companies needing blog content related to mental health and/or fashion and style.
So, if you want to stop by to check out an occasional blog post, OR if you or someone you know is in need of blog posts related to the aforementioned topics, I'd love to see over there! You can also follow me on Instagram @heather.harts.writing—sorry, shameless self promo. Over there, I'll let you know when I upload a new post to my website, and I'll also give you a brief rundown of what that post is about.
Choosing to become a full-time freelance blogger is probably one of the most exciting, thrilling, and terrifying things I have ever done. One minute I feel super confident, and the next I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing. Though this path is full of unknowns and what-ifs, I'm excited to see where it takes me.
To everyone who has supported me on this journey, thank you. It's because of you that I realized the possibility of turning this hobby into a career. I don't think I'll ever be able to express how much you and your support mean to me.
Now, instead of ending my time on Blogspot with a 'goodbye,' I'm going to say 'see ya later.' I can't wait to see you over at the new and improved Turquoise Hart!
